There are few nicer places to set sail than Southern California. For boating enthusiasts, Ventura Harbor offers wonderful opportunities for recreation. With three full-service commercial Marinas, you can dock for the night or for the season. The slips accommodate many sizes of vessels from a luxury yacht to modest sailboat.
Whether you are charting the waters in a J-14 or in a yacht with a bronze propeller, when you dock in Ventura, here are few landmarks that you will not want to miss:
You will find the “club” set at this exclusive members-only venue. The yacht club boasts a marina and full-service restaurant and bar. Located just north of the Village, it is the preferred destination for many visitors as it honors reciprocal privileges for yacht clubs worldwide.
The Village is the place for kids and family during the day and lively club scene at night.
Many smaller restaurants and cafes line the harbor and are interconnected with charming wooden walkways. With souvenir shops and an ice cream parlor, whether you are a sailor or not, you can find adventure and amusement here. The Ventura Harbor Comedy Club offers comedy; laughter will keep your personal propeller balance in sync!
Each of the three commercial marinas offer slip rentals as well as service and dry-dock options. If you need propeller repair, contact the marinas directly for a referral.

The headquarters for Channel Islands National Park is located at end of Spinnaker Drive. You will find a museum staffed with a park ranger or friendly volunteers. Be sure to climb the four story tower for a 360 degree view of the Marina and the Pacific Ocean. On a clear day, the Channel Islands appear in the distance.
The Island Packers tour company takes visitors on boat excursions to the Channel Islands. With trips scheduled daily to all five of the islands, they make visiting this natural landmark a fun and safe adventure. You can purchase a day trip or go for a longer stay for camping and hiking in the Park.
There are many options for boating in Southern California. The Ventura Harbor offers a great mix of activities for the serious yachtsman to the weekend tourist.
